To open your Chrome browsing history, you can tap Menu > History or tap “Show Full History” on the “Recently Closed” page. Dig through your history and you should be able to find the web address of the tab you had open. To open your Safari browsing history, tap the book-shaped icon on the toolbar, tap the book-shaped icon in the pane that appears, and then tap “History.” Scroll through your browsing history or use the search box and you should be able to find the web address of the tab you had open. If it’s been a while since you closed the tab and it no longer appears in the list, you can try finding it in your browser history. That’s the point! If Your Recently Closed Tabs Don’t Appear In the List Note that you won’t see Incognito tabs appear in the “Recent Tabs” list, as Chrome forgets about them right after you close them. In Google Chrome on an iPhone or iPad, tap the menu button, and then tap the “Recent Tabs” option. You’ll see a list of tabs you recently closed under the “Recently Closed” section. Prior updates retained most things such as what to do with reopening closed tabs and deleting (or not) cookies.Tap the recently closed tab you want to restore, and Safari will reopen that web page.
So what's with the ORACLE and the BING all of a sudden?Ĭ) WHY, oh why, is Windows indiscriminately, arbitrarily, irrevocably, and unexpectedly shutting down my Edge sessions?ĭ) Why do I have to reset so many options for every single update? "Set" means "set", implying some permanence. You can also include/exclude pinned tabs for the above actions. Thus, pretty good options are provided by this extension. Yet one of the mysteriously reopened tabs - that I never ever opened myself - has the Bing logo and the tab is labeled "windows threshold - Bing". Close all tabs only in the current window and open a new tab. Edge does correctly recognize GOOGLE as my default. I have never used ORACLE as a developer or knowingly for any other purpose.ī) BING now appears everywhere, even though I selected GOOGLE as my default search engine. Regardless, I am becoming more and more unhappy with Windows and MSN.Ī) Inexplicably, an ORACLE developer window opens automatically and frequently.
But I had continued to open many new tabs since then and THOSE are the ones I want to be reopened So if Edge could found SOME arbitrary set of tabs to reopen, why can't it do what it is supposed to do which is reopen the set of most recent tabs which clearly includes the new tabs I opened since the last Edge termination?ħ) Something is going on. Yes, I had opened them after one unexpected Edge closure. In fact, I do not even know why they were chosen and not others. deleted?Ħ) The tabs and history that DO appear after an unexpected closure of Edge are NOT the ones from my most recent session. So why is Edge now ignoring how my "do not delete" options and is acting as though I do want cookies, etc. Most web browsers make it easy to reopen your last closed tab, as well as browse through lists of your recently-closed tabs to pick a specific one. Why does Microsoft not realize how stupid it is to suggest using HISTORY, when HISTORY got deleted (not by the user) when the session ended (not by the user) despite the user's settings are "Do NOT delete cookies, cache, history, etc."?ĥ) Regarding point #4, I do NOT currently have my options set to delete cookies when the session ends, unexpectedly or not. Reopening a browser tab is useful when you’ve either accidentally closed a tab you meant to keep open, or if you recently closed a tab and cannot remember the URL. The u nexpected closure of the session also deletes cookies, cache, history, etc. Where did THAT go and why?Ĥ) Previous attempts to answer this problem always say to simply check HISTORY and rebuild from there. Why is it not there anymore? Was it so difficult to code? Was it a drain on resources? Why on earth would MSN assume we'd be happier with LESS functionality?ģ) Right-clicking on a new tab previously gave the option to reopen ALL closed tabs. ~~~ Basic Question: How can I reopen all tabs when MS inexplicably closes my Edge session? ~~~Īttempts to answer this heretofore are not useful IMO because:ġ) The Windows OS closed the session ( I most definitely did NOT.) Why? And why is this suddenly happening to me so often (weekly, if not more often) since about December 2020?Ģ) There used to be an obvious and easily found control setting to reopen all closed tabs. I feel this problem indicates there is a LOT that is not working correctly with Edge. Yes, I know this is often asked here, but please try to be patient.
